I love this picture, it has so much within it, her mobile phone she is texting on, her face staring into space as she pulses between sentences and the glasses at the bottom of her nose over the face mask. I took this shot by the same vintage carousel in my image ‘Merry go round‘ Honfleur, France.
Leica M4-2, Summicron 35mm f/2 ASPH and taken on Kodak Tri-X, rated at 800.
I’ve always loved the idea of street photography but have always struggled with the perception I’ve violated someone’s privacy. This has always struck me as ironic as I worked for years as a photojournalist and never thought twice about taking someone’s photo. And since we need to put names to faces I usually ended up talking to them. Maybe one day I’ll come to peace with it and pick up street photography. Until then I’ll continue to enjoy your work.
