Picnic in the Rain

Sheerness, England – January 2021

Last years Cygnets now matured having a paddle in rain at Bartons Point Coastal Park, which now is always empty except for the occasional dog walker and a fool walking around with his Leica.

Sadly, the Boat House Café is now another victim of the continued lockdown and I’d be surprised if it ever opens again. Shows how much it had rained, these birds swimming around what normally grass.

Me, me!

Taken either this year at Mote Park Cafe, Maidstone and after a long dog walk, bacon rolls all round! I was amused by the Cockapoo on the right trying to sit taller than his larger companion.

Taking notice

Street photography in Honfleur, France. As this couple walked past, I barked to get the dog attention and the woman looked at me instead of her Pappion, much to the amusement of the people sitting at the caf’e opposite.

Painted toes

Honfleur, outside the Alcyone caf’e. I saw this young lady standing bare foot holding her boots, so I took the shot. Now I know women like to paint their nails, but never someone standing in the street with cotton wool between her toes and then walk off like it. Even my wife raised her eyebrows!

The Old Bicycle

This beautiful old bicycle can be found in Rue des Lingots, Honfleur, France. It’s parked outside a small C’afe called ‘Le Temps Des Cerises’ and if you look up online you’ll find it has been photographed many times before I believe, so this is my take on this street scene.

Monsieur

I took this portrait of this gentlemen sitting at a street side cafe in the town Orbec, Normandy. Neither of us could speak each others language very well, but he didn’t seem to mind his picture being taken.

Day Dreaming

Gacé in Normandy, France.

Street photography. Outside this cafe on Rue Saint-Jacque in the bright autumnal sunshine, this woman in the foreground seemed miles away subbing out her cigarette.

Cafe Dog

Another colour shot, this time with the Leica. My wife and I where in the Barton Coastal Park cafe, Sheppey, England one Sunday morning. While Helen was getting the tea’s, this little dog popped her head up from behind a table. She had such a surprised look, I just had get the shot!

Getting the picture wasn’t easy though. The light from the windows behind was really strong and while there is some light from the windows and a open door opposite, the room is quite dark. I had to get a reading using my Weston Master V handheld meter. Luckily, the floor is concrete and a suitable grey colour, and with some quick thinking (dangerous I know) I manage to get the picture.
