Changing Lines

Still my Holidays at the moment so I’m uploading an older image for today.

Taken at Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway, England. The engine name is ‘Armistice’ Circa 1919. Two things I like about this picture, the first is the sunlight coming though the trees behind. Second, is light is shining along the rails, making them look like white lines. I think it’s amazing that the Nikon FE forty year old meter coped well with this shot and needed very little dodge and burn in final picture.

Seen

I’m away the next fortnight on my holidays so I will have to upload an older image this week. This is ”Lizzy” a local cat to me who I spotted peering though a gate with a glaring look. She is fearless, standing up to anything or anyone, having seen me, my camera and my dog, I took the shot and made a hasty retreat!

Lizzy

I make a mistake by overdeveloping this roll of film by forgetting to take into account the Kodak D76 developer temperature, which was 24°C.

Despite this, I think it this image works well.

Taken with a Nikon F80, (alas I have no more, died and went to camera heaven) the lens was a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF-D on Fomapan 100 Classic film.

Waiting

Taken at Dungeness, England. This location is a magnet for photographers from all over because of its bleak and barren landscapes. This is one of the last few old fishing boat hulks stilling remaining on the beach.

Mother

I don’t normally take portraits, but this image I am very pleased with. This is my mother in law, now in her eighties, a great grandmother and I’m sure you will agree she makes a fine black and white portrait picture.

I took this shot hand held with just natural daylight from the nearby window.

Taken in July 2016 on a Nikon FE, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 Ai on Fomapan 400 Action film, developed in Kodak D76 for 12.5 minutes at 20ºc.

Evening Flight

This image came about because of a wrong exposure but having seen the image I decided that was worth using. I can’t even remember where I took the picture. I know it was in December 2017 and taken on the Isle of Sheppey, England.

My wife has since reminded me I took this shot at Bartons Point Coastal Park.

Queuing for the train

The Bure Valley Railway is a 15 inch (38 cm) minimum gauge heritage railway in Norfolk, England. The railway runs from Wroxham to Aylsham and is Norfolk’s longest railway of less than standard gauge.

Always looking for a picture I noticed the reflection of the people queuing for the next train in the carriage windows opposite.
